Questions

AI design wraps — common questions.

Pricing, the process, file types, when AI works and when it doesn\'t. The answers we give on calls, written down.

The most common questions we get about bringing AI-generated wrap designs to install. Covers pricing, file formats, unsalvageable concepts, our own AI use inside the workflow, timelines, and what happens when an AI mockup can't be saved. Twelve questions, real answers, no fluff.

If you don't see your question here, text us at (801) 648-9727 and ask. We'll answer in plain English and add it to this page if it's a question we should have anticipated.

1. Can you really fix any AI design?

Most of them, yes. About 1 in 20 we tell the customer up front that the concept doesn't work for a vehicle wrap — usually because the layout fundamentally fights the body lines on their specific vehicle, or because the central concept can't be reproduced at print resolution without becoming a different image. When that happens, we don't charge design fees and we propose two adjacent directions we can produce. You're never on the hook for a fix that won't work.

2. What if I only have a Midjourney prompt, not a finished image?

Send the prompt and one sentence about what you're trying to achieve. We'll generate three exploratory directions in our own tools (we use Adobe Firefly, Gemini, and Midjourney internally). You either pick one to productionize or you take what you learned and refine your prompt. Either way, you're moving on real concepts fast instead of stalling on a blank page.

3. Do I need to know what I want, or can you help me figure it out?

Both work. Some customers come in with a locked AI concept ready to install. Others come in with "I think I want something with this energy" and four reference images. We have a process for either starting point. The intake call on day one is where we figure out which one you are.

4. How much extra does it cost vs a regular design?

Nothing extra. Same three design packages as any other job: Basic $250 (1 concept, 3 revisions), Standard $500 (2 concepts, 6 revisions), or Premium $750 (3 concepts, 9 revisions). You own the files when the package is paid. The AI source doesn't change those numbers. A complexity add-on only kicks in if your concept needs heavy reconstruction work — illustrated character work, 10+ distinct graphic elements, complex multi-panel scenes — and we'll quote that separately before we start.

5. What if your team thinks my AI design is unsalvageable?

We tell you before charging any design fees, and we propose two adjacent concepts we can deliver. You can take one of those, refine your original concept and come back, or walk away. We don't take money for work we can't ship.

6. Do you use AI to design too, or just to fix mine?

Both. We use Adobe Firefly for generative fill and concept exploration, Gemini for element extraction and reference work, and Photoshop's generative tools for upscaling. Inside the workflow we treat AI as a production tool, not as the design itself. The human designer makes every layout decision, every typography call, every color decision.

7. Will the final wrap look like the AI mockup, or different?

Usually 80 to 90 percent the same look and feel, with the things that were broken fixed. Customers regularly tell us the final wrap looks like "what they meant when they made the AI version." That's the goal. We preserve composition and direction. We replace specific elements (logos, type, off-brand color, broken vector) with corrected versions.

8. How do you handle text and logos that AI got wrong?

Text gets fully re-set in print-grade fonts sized for legibility at vehicle scale (typically a strong condensed sans for hero copy, plus a separate face for the phone number sized for highway-speed reading). Logos get replaced with your actual vector logo from your brand assets. If you don't have a clean vector logo, we vectorize what you do have at no upcharge.

9. What does the whole process look like?

We take it from upload through design, in-house print, and a hand install, then your vehicle leaves installed. Single-vehicle jobs move faster; complex designs and fleet rebrands take more. Fleet jobs (3+ vehicles) get scheduled in waves so you're never down more than two at once. We keep your project moving and keep you posted at every step.

10. Do you guarantee the final wrap will match the AI mockup?

We guarantee we'll deliver a print-ready file and a clean install that match the proof you sign off on. The proof is what you approve before we print, and it reflects the AI direction with the fixes applied. We don't guarantee an AI mockup that has unprintable elements will be reproduced exactly — that's the whole point of the de-slop workflow. We guarantee the proof.

11. Can I bring AI references along with my own sketches or photos?

That's actually the strongest brief we get. AI render plus a hand sketch plus a real photo of your vehicle or your team gives our designers more to work with than any one input alone. Send everything you have.

12. Do you do AI design work for personal vehicles?

We don't do personal wraps anymore — we focus on commercial fleets and service businesses. If you're wrapping your personal vehicle, we'll happily refer you to one of two local shops who do that work well. We just don't, anymore.
